00s heartthrob set to release first solo album in over a decade

It's already rumoured to address his split from his actress ex-wife.

More than a decade after his last solo venture, a Jonas Brothers band member has announced he’s releasing a new album.

In 2006 brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick released their debut studio album It’s About Time, but it was their self-titled second album released the following year that saw their careers take off.

The trio also became regulars on the Disney Channel during the noughties, appearing in the successful musical television film Camp Rock in 2008 and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam two years later.

But after releasing two more albums, the band broke up due to creative differences in 2013, then spending the next six years pursuing solo projects.

In that time Joe, now 34, formed the funk-pop band DNCE in 2015, serving as the lead vocalist.

Although he had released solo album Fastlife in 2011, the 00s heartthrob has now revealed he’s got another solo album coming out in a few months.

The album – titled Music for People Who Believe in Love – will be released in October.

Sharing a compilation of clips of himself to reveal the news, Joe posted on social media: ‘Music For People Who Believe In Love. October 18th. Preorder now at joejonas.com.’

Sharing some details of the upcoming release, Joe shared in another post the album was a ‘celebration of gratitude, hope and love’ and referenced ‘mourning a loss’ in his statement, suggesting some of the songs might be about his split from ex-wife, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner.

Unsurprisingly many of Joe’s fans rushed to share their excitement about the album, saying it was going to be ‘amazing’ and they ‘can’t wait’ to hear the tracks.

Despite their hiatus, the Jonas Brothers came back together in 2019 and are still releasing music together too, with their sixth studio album, The Album, dropping last year.

However, a few months ago they enraged some fans in Europe after postponing concerts.

In April the trio announced ‘exciting projects’ that meant they had decided to hold off on the next section of their Five Albums One Night tour.

This news did not sit well with ticketholders, many of whom had booked accommodation and travel in order to see the band.
